In our community of Medellin, Moravia suffers from food insecurity and a high obesity rate. But resilience is a staple of the community. Platos Sin Fronteras intervened alongside local leaders to hold 16 cooking workshops to reach over 100 community members.
Collaborating with Parque Explora, we offered a space for the exchange of ideas, habits, and experiences while teaching our curriculum around nutrition and healthy living. Our participants are now leading nutritional members of Moravia having been certified by SENA to teach these workshops. Jennifer speaks about her experience below.
